Each summer, Tennessee 4-H’ers keep themselves occupied. Between Roundup, camp and academic conferences across the state and country, students are quite busy. Here’s a preview of exciting things to come this season.

Junior High 4-H Academic Conference – June 12-15

The Junior High 4-H Academic Conference provides junior high 4-H’ers with the opportunity to receive intensive training in their specified project areas under the supervision of UT specialists and to explore related career opportunities.

4-H Shooting Sports – June 24-29

A volunteer-led program that teaches life skills through shooting sports and gives youth the opportunity to learn safety and shooting techniques in the disciplines of shotgun, rifle, archery, muzzleloader and hunting. A similar program is offered for younger students (grades 5 through 9) in July called Target SMART Camp. This program is affiliated with National 4-H Shooting Sports.

4-H Electric Camp – June 26-29

For students enrolled in grades 6 and 7, Electric Camp provides a fun-filled and rewarding adventure in electricity. The camp features learning centers staffed by electric utility professionals and much more.

Tennessee Junior Livestock Expo – Sheep Events – July 5-7

This year’s sheep events for the Junior Livestock Expo will take place in Cookeville.

Tennessee Junior Livestock Expo – Beef Events – July 12-13

Held in Murfreesboro, this year’s beef events will take place in early July.

State 4-H Roundup – July 23-27

The Tennessee 4-H Roundup is an annual event that recognizes the outstanding project work and leadership accomplishments of senior 4-H participants.
